Our Dining Room is FINALLY coming together! Yesterday we got our chandelier in and ya girl did a happy dance!! I am a firm believer that a dining room isn’t complete without a china cabinet. Growing up, I always loved looking through people’s china cabinets. Every Southern woman I know has a fabulous china cabinet full of beautiful china, dishes, and special little knick-knacks.
When I was looking for china cabinets, I wanted an antique beauty that was one of a kind. Long story short, I found one at a beauty shop that I fell in love with. It had a retro feel on the bottom with a classic look on top. Well, I bought it that day and then had my dad inspect it… Landed up being a slight dud.
I loved the look of the bottom, but come to find out it was made of plastic to look like wood and Kyle and poppa bear wouldn’t let that fly. So the search continued as we looked for another bottom piece that was made of wood, allowing it to last longer. A few months passed and I found a buffet that would match my original top perfectly. I guess you could call this piece a 2 in 1, but I am very happy with how it turned out!!
And we used the bottom retro plastic piece as a desk in my office!! Win, Win!!
Obviously my theme in my wedding registry was gold! Some tips for registering is to choose a color that you will enjoy in fifteen years. For me, that was gold. When choosing a pattern for my china I wanted a classic look that was timeless.
Some of my favorite serving pieces are from Annie Glass, Beatriz Ball, and Lenox. Fun fact about Beatriz Ball, you will never have to polish out this silver!! Game changer, right?! Annie Glass should never go into the dish washer! Honestly, anything with gold metallic should be hand washed.
Looking back at these photos I am thinking I should live with Austin Powers in his gold member house! But hey, if you know what you like…why not embrace it? I hope you enjoyed going through my little cupboard and feel free to come over whenever and eat off my everyday dishes haha!!
I hope you all have a fabulous Wednesday and as always thank you for reading!
